AMP President visit to USA, 07 Nov 2015, 8:00am TO 5:30pm
AMP President, Mr. Aamir Idrisi has been selected in a Multi-Country Program run by USA Government and he will be visiting the United States of America as one of the special invitees. The Program is named as "American Youth: Inspiring Leadership and Civic Engagement" to promote civic awareness and youth leadership and to emphasize the importance of pluralism, tolerance, and volunteerism as components of civic life in the U.S. This is a 22 day Program which starts on 12th of Jan., 2013 and will carry on till the 02nd of Feb., 2013.

The Officer from the American Embassy while explaining the objectives of the program said that, “the programs goal is to examine the concepts of Democracy, Government and Citizenship, and their importance to the U.S. civil society. The major goal of the program is to identify the skills necessary for grooming future leaders and explore methods used to develop these skills in critical thinking, decision-making, communication and organization, and building leadership capacity; To explore model programs that promote civic awareness and youth leadership in a variety of contexts such as schools, colleges, associations, youth clubs, sports programs, arts programs, interfaith initiatives, and political advocacy”
The Program is attended by representatives of around 40 Countries including 4 Muslims. Mr. Aamir Idrisi is the only candidate from India nominated for this Program. During the course of this Program the Participants will meet Politicians, Ministers, Senators, Top Level Government Officers, Youth Leaders, College and University Students, local Non-Profit organizations and residents and share their experiences. The exhaustive itinerary spreads across the country wherein he will be visiting Washington D.C, Maryland, New York, Pensacola (Florida), Houston (Texas), Tucson (Arizona), Salt Lake City (Utah) and Portland (Oregon)
Mr. Aamir Idrisi (President, AMP) is also scheduled to meet many Prominent Muslims and Important Muslim Organizations working in America. Speaking on this occasion prior to the departure Mr. Aamir Idrisi said, “This program will allow me to interact with people from various facets of the Government and Non-Governmental Organization across the USA and various other countries both from within the community and outside. It will provide me with a great opportunity to share and learn from the thoughts and vision of these important people, to create a strong community and a better society back here in India. This will also give me a chance to project our great nation India in a much better light”.
