AMP National Convention 2015

Mumbai, 07 February, 2015 : AMP holds its 7th Annual Convention in Byculla, Mumbai with Hon’ Shri Digvijay Singhji as Chief Guest releasing the AMP Souvenir

Association of Muslim Professionals an NGO of Professional Muslim people in the field of education and guidance held its 7th Annual convention in Mumbai to enlighten its supporters and well-wishers  about its progress, activities and various projects and it was attended by the who’s who of the social scene and Hon.’ SHir Digijay Singh ji was invited as the Chief Guest. The AMP Souvenir was also released on this occasion by Shri Digvijay Singh ji.

Details:  AMP has completed its 7 years since its establishment on December 6th 2007. During this period it has been bestowed upon with various recognitions and has put up an example to youth of connecting with social causes with an alternate approach. To reflect upon its achievements and accomplishments all these years, to enlighten its supporters and well-wishers and also to plan the year ahead AMP decided to celebrate it’s Annual Convention on 7th February 2015. The event was titled AMP 7th Annual Convention, 7 Years of Commitment, 7 Years of Efforts, 7 Years of Progress.

Various dignitaries from the Bureaucracy, Corporate Sector, Social and Political circles were invited for this event which also had a participation of more than 800 guests, which had an equal number of male and female guests, mostly the who’s who of the society.

Apart from Hon.’ Shri Digvijay Singhji who was invited as the Chief Guest, the guest list included Hazrat Syed Moin Mian a very well respected community figure who graced the occasion with his blessings, Mr.Sudheendra Kulkarni (Observers Research Foundation), Shri Amin Patel, MLA from Mumbadevi area, Shri Baba Siddiqui ex-MLA, Adv.Yusuf Abrahani, Adv.Rizwan Merchant (leading criminal lawyer), Mr.Abdul Quadir Fazlani and Mr.Suhail Khandwani (leading Business figures), Mr.Khalid Khan (Country Head, Mahindra Finance), Dr.Patankar, Madam Sabira Sikwani (a leading social figure) graced the occasion with their presence.

The event comprised of cultural events including childrens plays with Social messages against drug abuse and social standing, Patriotic Songs, etc.

Mr. Aamir Idrisi, President AMP spoke about how AMP has grown over the period of 7 years from a group of small committed members to have more than 44000 members associated not just in India but also across the world, has reached about 60 cities benefiting thousands of students and budding professionals. He further elaborated how today AMP is the only such organization of professionals in India which can conduct around 150 Skills Development lectures in 150 schools across the country on the same day.

Remembering the past Mr.Amin Patel said how he came across AMP and how he saw AMP grow over the years and how well the AMP conducts its programs spreading positive benefits and he feels happy to support AMP and wants to see them work more and spread more in each and every corner of the country. He had words of praise for the leadership skills and vision of the AMP President Aamir Idrisi and the entire AMP Team. He further said that it was a right decision to have supported AMP and is always available for AMP.

Mr.Baba Siddiqui said he was very happy to know that there is a group of professionals who are doing such great work which he feels can do wonders for the down-trodden and the under-privileged. He said that it is not the responsibility of just a few people but all the people from the community need to come forward and work for the welfare of those in the community and others as well.

Mr. Shudheendra Kulkarni voiced his reservations regarding the exclusion of certain words from the Constitution preamble in a recent advertisement and said that we need to stand up against the same united, to defend the sanctity of the constitution and the secular fabric of our country, He further said that he appreciates that there is one such organization of professionals that is working towards education and welfare and which is working towards bringing all the communities together which is the need of the hour which could further work towards global peace and see South Asia as a centre of peace.

Shri Digvijay Singh ji said that the when he received got to know about AMP and its activities he was quite fascinated about it and when he received invitation for the AMP Convention he was inclined to attend. He further reiterated about ‘Ganga-jumna’ tehzeeb where people from all faith coexist peacefully with mutual respects. He also expressed his sadness where visiting dignitaries from other countries have to give us lessons on tolerance. He said that it is wonderful to see organizations like AMP working on a secular fabric and working for the social, educational and economic welfare of the under-privileged and down-trodden. He said that he was happy to see many females from the minority community come forward and attain education which is the need of the hour. He appreciated the kind of work being done by AMP and was happy for the same and infact would want them to continue doing more and more good work. He further reiterated that he would always be available whenever AMP calls upon him.

The AMP Souvenir was also released by the hands of Shri Digvijay Singh ji and other dignitaries present on the dias.

The event was well-appreciated by the audience and everyone was inspired by the good words shared by the Chief Guests and other privileged guests. All took a positive reckoning from this event and all had good words of praise for AMP.
