AMP Scholarship Distribution Program in Mumbai

AMP distributes its Higher Education Scholarship to 40 students in Mumbai

Association of Muslim Professionals AMP organized a Scholarship distribution program for 40 bright and dynamic students on Wednesday, 26th September, 2018 at small function held at AMP office at Agripada in Mumbai. A total of Rs. 6 lacs was disbursed to help these deserving students of Higher and Technical Education in Mumbai. These students are currently pursuing Engineering, Medicine, Management and Architecture etc with their sheer dedication and hard work with an aim to make it big in life.

The program was attended by some well-known dignitaries from the social circle of Mumbai. Amin Patel (MLA), Ehsan Haji Gadawala (President of World Memon Organisation (WMO) North India Chapter) and Shabbir Ansari (President, All India Muslim OBC Organization) were the special guests at this event.

While addressing the gathering Mr. Amin Patel said, “I have been associated with AMP from its early days and have been very impressed with the kind of work they are doing. I do get regular updates and emails of the various activities that are arranged across the country on a daily basis. Now is the time we all stand together and support AMP in achieving its mission and vision so that we can transform the lives of underprivileged Muslims across the country”.

Mr. Shabbir Ansaris’ speech noted, “AMP has embarked upon a wonderful journey of Community Service. This will help change the face of the Community on the giving end rather than the receiving end.”

Mr. Ehsan Gadawala said that, “This is a very thoughtful project of AMP which can be of great help to needy students. We want more and more people to come forward and work this way constructively in the field of Community service. AMP is a shining example for others to follow. This is a great example in community service which should be replicated by other social welfare organizations as well.”

In his Inaugural Speech, AMP President Mr. Aamir Edresy explained about the AMP’s Journey so far and all AMP Projects. He also explained that AMP has a complete list of projects which helps in entire life cycle of a Students life from Career Guidance to getting a Job in Schools.

Mr. Edresy said, “We have distributed Scholarships to 40 students in Mumbai and surrounding areas and 200+ students in various parts of the country this year amounting to nearly 25 lacs. In total AMP has managed to work as a change agent in transforming more than 700 lives in terms of Scholarships in the last 5 years”.  Apart from Higher Education Scholarships AMP is supporting Basic Education of more than 200 Orphans and supports less educated youth with Self Employment assistance to around 100 people this year.

He further added that “We are planning to expand the Scholarship to 500 Students next year Insha Allah and we are also planning to launch a Scholarship Portal from where students will be able to get information about all the available scholarships across India.”

Mr. Razak Shaikh Head of AMP Projects gave a brief detail on all the AMP Projects like SDL, Online Career Counselling Cell, Career Guidance Seminars, AMP Resource Centre, Mentorship Program, Employability Training Program, Mock Interview Workshops to Job Placement Help by Job Fairs and Job Drives to Scholarship Assistance to Student etc

Mr. Shaikh, addressed the students and stressed on them to continue doing well in their academics and at the same time after getting into their respective Professional fields to give back to the Society and the Community. He mentioned that AMP provides them an excellent platform and they are always welcome to get associated with AMP either through Skill Development Lectures (SDLs) we conduct in Schools or to volunteer in AMP’s Job Drives and Job Fairs.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Soheb Selia – Organising Secretary, Mr. Iftekhar Shaikh – Head of Employment Assistance Cell (EAC) and Mr. Javed Shaikh – Finance Secretary of AMP and Mr. Saeed Khan, Maulana Irfan Aleemi.

The entire program was coordinated by Miss. Muzammil Banatwalla Operations Manager and Miss. Misbah Khan from the AMP Office.

Since the beginning AMP has embarked upon is journey of social and economic empowerment of the community and the society and has given shape to this ambition in many ways and one of the ways being the Scholarship distribution to needy student of the community.
