AMP Zakat Fund Report 2020

AMP Zakat Fund - Report 2020

  857 Deserving & Underprivileged Lives touched by AMP Zakat Fund!

Zakat is one of the 5 pillars of Islam and one of the most defining characteristics. No other theological religion places such a great emphasis on social equity through the voluntary contribution of Charity. In more than 30 verses of the Holy Qur’an, the giving of Zakat is included along with the worshipping of the Lord Almighty (Salah) as the most desirable qualities of the faithful. It is the third pillar of Islam which represents the economic aspect of Islam.

AMP Zakat Fund (AZF), was started 8 years ago with a focus on utilizing it for the Education and Self-employment of underprivileged Muslims. Alhamdulillah! It has grown multi-fold from a collection of merely Rs. 2 lakhs in 2013 to Rs. 94,89,344 from 857 Donors in the year 2020. One of the main objectives of the AMP Zakat Fund is to help make the Zakat Seekers of today become the Zakat Givers of tomorrow. Please find below the details of AMP Zakat Fund from 2013-2020;

Self-Employment Assistance:

The Self-Employment Assistance of largely Rs. 25000 each was provided to young, talented but 117 unemployed poor, out of which 71 were Women and 80 Men, within the community to start a small business with the objective of promoting Self-Employment. This assistance was provided across the Country, mainly focussing on Rural areas. The focus was on widows and Old age people to start some self-sustainable activity;

  • In Badmer District of Rajasthan, we helped set up a Cement block-making factory by a group of 10 underprivileged Muslims aged from 15 – 50 years, at a cost of Rs. 2.5 lakhs. These 10 individuals will operate the plant and run the business in the cooperative model.
  • In Osmanabad District of Maharashtra, we helped 10 widows and 5 needy men to get into Goat rearing for their livelihoods. Each of these 15 families was given a set of goats so that they become self-dependent and can take care of their families.
