Winners of AMP’s 5th National Award for Excellence in Education 2021

5th National Award for Excellence in Education 2021 announced by AMP on Teachers Day
116 Education Professionals were awarded from across the country

The importance of teachers can be understood by the quote of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) where he said that "I have been sent only as a teacher to you". The Prophet (SAW) reached the hearts and minds of people through various educational activities. The role of a teacher/ educator in society is both significant and valuable.

Since 2017 AMP appreciates the role of Teachers & Educators from across India for their outstanding services and invaluable contribution to Student lives in particular and the Society at large.

The winners of the awards were selected by the eminent jury of 25 Academicians from the massive nominations received from across India.

These awards were given in the following 6 categories;

1. Primary and Secondary Teachers
2. College and University Teachers
3. Principal/Head of Institutions
4. Islamic Education (Arabic/Fiqh/Islamic Studies)
5. Educational Institutions
6. Lifetime Awards

Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Late Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan - Al Aameen Education Movement (Bangaluru, Karnataka), Prof. Irfan Habib - Professor (Emeritus), Department of History, A.M.U. (Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh), Prof. Mohammad Halim Khan - President, Islamia Karimia Society (Indore, Madhya Pradesh), Prof Dawood Ghanchi - Ex. Vice-Chancellor Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (Modasa, Gujarat), Prof. Syed Muhammad Amin - President, Al-Barakaat Educational Society (Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh) and Prof Dr. S. Sathikh - Former Vice-Chancellor Madras University (Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu)

During the online Felicitation Ceremony, Professor Akhtarul Wasey (Former President, Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan) profoundly mentioned that honouring a Teacher is like honouring the whole world. And such awards are a way to honour the teacher's heart. You can't forget that. He wholehearted supported and congratulated AMP and President Aamir Edresy to have such awards for our Teachers.

Dr. Syed Farooque (an Educationist and Philanthropist) spoke in eloquent Urdu urging the community and its changemakers that Quality education should be the focus because it aims at developing a balanced set of capabilities of children they require to become economically productive, develop sustainable livelihoods, contribute to peaceful and democratic societies and enhance individual well-being.

The Grand Mufti from Kerala and Head of Markaz Saqafatus Sunniya Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad graced the occasion with his age and wisdom and brought renown and cachet to AMP’s initiatives. 

In his Inaugural Speech, AMP President Mr. Aamir Edresy spoke about AMP’s other growth-oriented initiatives that a ‘new air beneath AMP’s wings’ like - the Professors Connect program, that is a collaborative program to widen the network and share best practices of the academic world; National Assistance Admission Program, which, as the name suggests will provide assistance to aspiring students in the process of gaining college or University admissions. National Talent Search - an upcoming national competition that is being launched with the intention of increasing the Students’ General Awareness and Competitive Spirit is going to be India’s biggest student reach program. He also reaffirmed the importance of Collaboration of academia with the Industry Professionals that will raise and grow the welfare of the Muslim Community and this Nation.

Mr. Syed Khaleel Ahmed (Head - AMP Professors Connect) hosted the event. While introducing the ceremony Mr. Syed lead the floor while mentioning, “We are excited to recognize this extraordinary group of award winners. These highly accomplished and passionate individuals are working tirelessly to bring meaning to the lives of students, fellow educators, and others”. He further mentioned that “We are proud to honour their outstanding efforts and service to the education field.”

The program was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Zahida Khan (AMP NCT Head) and the Dua by AMP North Zone Head Mr. Ameen Mohammed. AMP Project Head, Abdul Razak Shaikh gave the Welcome Address.
