PREAMBLE
These Bylaws are framed to regulate the membership structure, governance, rights, responsibilities, and discipline of the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), a non-profit, non-political, and voluntary organization.
Approved in the National Executive Meeting (NEM), these Bylaws establish a structured, transparent, and accountable framework for membership across AMP.
All members shall adhere to these Bylaws and conduct themselves in a manner that upholds:
- The objectives and mission of AMP
- The Constitution of India and laws of the land
- Principles of integrity, professionalism, discipline, and service
These Bylaws shall remain in force unless amended by the competent authority of AMP.
ARTICLE 1: MEMBERSHIP FRAMEWORK
1.1 Eligibility
Any Muslim individual above 18 years of age shall be eligible for membership, provided that the individual is:
- A citizen of India, or a Person of Indian Origin (PIO)
- Accepts AMP Bylaws and discipline
- Commits to uphold the Constitution of India and lawful conduct
1.2 Categories of Membership
AMP shall have the following membership categories:
- Associate Member
- Active Member
- Life Member
- Patron Member
- Volunteer Member
1.4 Membership Cycle
- Membership shall be based on the Financial Year (April to March)
- Any payment made shall be valid only for that financial year
- Membership must be renewed annually, unless Life Membership is granted
1.5 Membership Fees
- ₹2,000 per year – Associate & Active Members
- ₹25,000 (one-time) – Life Membership (By Invitation Only)
The Governing Council (GC) reserves the right to revise fees from time to time.
1.6 Membership Due Date & Validity
Membership renewal deadline: 30th June of each financial year
Implications:
- Membership remains functional only upon payment
- Non-payment by 30th June shall result in:
- Membership becoming non-functional
- Loss of privileges and participation rights - Continued non-payment may lead to expiry/termination of membership
1.3 Default Category
All new members shall be enrolled as Associate Members.
1.7 Pro-Rated Fees (New Members)
- New members joining after 30th June may be charged pro-rated membership fees for the remaining financial year
- The structure and percentage of pro-rating shall be determined by the Governing Council from time to time
1.8 Pending Fees
- All existing or previous members must clear any pending membership dues to continue or reactivate membership
- Membership benefits, rights, or reactivation shall be subject to full settlement of pending fees
1.9 Application & Approval
- Membership applications shall be submitted through the official online system
- Approval by AMP Office as per guidelines shall be valid and binding
- Membership number shall be issued upon approval
1.10 Authority & Discretion
The Governing Council shall have final authority over:
- Membership approval/rejection
- Upgradation
- Special memberships
ARTICLE 2: CATEGORIES & PROGRESSION
2.1 Associate Member
- Entry-level membership category
- Entitled to participate in AMP activities
- Subject to annual fee payment
2.2 Active Member
- Granted only by invitation/approval of Governing Council
- Same annual fee as Associate Members
- Must demonstrate active participation and consistent contribution
Privileges:
- Voting rights
- Eligibility for leadership roles
2.3 Life Member
- Granted only by invitation of Governing Council
- Requires proven long-term contribution and minimum engagement (3 years as Active Member)
- One-time fee applicable
2.4 Patron Member
- Conferred upon distinguished individuals supporting AMP
- May be based on influence, contribution, or advisory value
- Fees may be defined or waived by Membership Committee or Governing Council
2.5 Volunteer Member
- May participate in AMP activities without formal membership fee
- No voting or governance rights
ARTICLE 3: EXISTING MEMBERS TRANSITION
All existing members shall be aligned to the new membership structure.
- Membership shall shift to a yearly renewal model

ARTICLE 4: RIGHTS & PRIVILEGES
4.1 Voting Rights
- Only Active and Life Members shall have voting rights
- Associate Members may vote at local level if permitted
4.2 Eligibility for Leadership
- Only Active and Life Members shall be eligible for leadership roles and responsibilities
4.3 Conditional Participation
- Members with inactive membership shall not be eligible for voting, leadership roles, or representation
4.4 Code of Conduct
- Uphold Islamic values and ethics
- Respect the Constitution of India
- Follow AMP governance norms
ARTICLE 5: DISCIPLINE & RESIGNATION
5.1 Grounds for Action
- Misconduct
- Violation of Bylaws
- Activities against AMP objectives
- Reputational harm
5.2 Due Process
- Opportunity to present case
- Final decision by Governing Council / President
5.3 Non-Payment
- May lead to suspension or expiry of membership
5.4 Resignation
- Members may resign via written or digital request
- Subject to acceptance by authority
- Pending dues must be cleared
- Rejoining will be treated as fresh application
