AMP Distributed Higher Education Scholarships to Deserving Students of Mumbai and its adjoining areas

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) on Tuesday 8th October 2019 distributed Higher Education Scholarships to 67 deserving and needy students from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Malegaon, Palghar, Kalyan, Thane, Mumbra & Pune at its Head Office in Agripada, Mumbai Central.

These were students who came from less-privileged families, but with their sheer hard work and dedication scored good marks in their H.S.C. and are now pursuing Engineering, Medicine, Aviation and Management Studies.

Altogether 22 students of Engineering, 10 Students of Medicine, 1 Student from Aviation and 3 Students of Management Studies apart from other fields were given away Scholarships ranging from Rs. 10,000/- upto Rs. 20,000/- depending on their merit and economic background. Mrs. Zubeida Khandwani was the Special Guest at the event. She mentioned about the importance of Education and shared her experience and views with the young minds who were very motivated with her vision. Her daughter, Mrs. Shaheen Lakdawala also attended the program with her. She said that Education is a basic right of every human being and that there should be no gender bias for acquiring it.

Mr. Riyazuddin Kazi, Head - AMP Zakat Project, addressed the students and stressed on them to continue doing well in their academics and at the same time after getting into their respective Professional fields to give back to the Society and the Community. He also mentioned the importance of time management in order to be successful in his/her professional life. He mentioned that AMP provided then an excellent platform for serving the society and the community and that they were always welcome to get associated with AMP either through Skill Development Lectures (SDLs) which are conducted in Schools for Higher Secondary students and/or volunteer in AMP’s Job Drives and Job Fairs

Mr. Shabbir Ansari, President of All India Muslim OBC Organisation, who is a well know personality also guided the students through his words and shared the importance of commitment in our daily lives.

Mr. Javed Sayed, AMP Finance Secretary, mentioned that AMP disseminates all information pertaining to Higher Education, Professional Entrance Exams, Scholarships Employment Opportunities in the Govt. and Private sector etc. In short the AMP Resource Centre (ARC) aims to be a one stop source for all Educational and Employment needs of the Community and the Society at large. He also urged the students to take advantage of the assistance being given by many such institutions and in turn help others too to achieve their dreams and rise up the ladder similarly.

The Scholarship Cheques were handed over to the students who expressed their gratitude towards AMP for helping and supporting them in their respective Education fields.
