AMP National NGO Conference 2025 -Day 1

1000+ Social Leaders from 300+ Districts attend AMP National NGO Conference 2025

Day 1: Saturday, 15th November 2025

 

The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) in collaboration with the Islamic Centre of India organised the AMP National NGO Conference 2025 on 15th & 16th of November 2025 at Aishbagh Eidgah, Lucknow. Over 1,000 representatives from NGOs, educational trusts, welfare organisations and community institutions across the country attended the Conference. The conference served as a national platform to strengthen the NGO ecosystem, promote collaborative action and accelerate socio-economic empowerment through education, healthcare, livelihood, governance and ethical finance.

The event opened with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a strong call for unity and structured collaboration. Representing the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Danish Azad Ansari, Minister of State for Minority Affairs & Waqf, urged NGOs to build stronger bridges with government agencies to improve access to schemes, skill development and entrepreneurship. Responding to his call, Mr. Aamir Edresy, President – AMP, reaffirmed AMP’s commitment to institutional partnerships and self-sustained growth models.

The inaugural session was hosted by Ms. Shaheen Islam, AMP State Head - Uttar Pradesh. The proceedings began with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Qamruddin, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Mobin Beg, Head of AMP NGOConnect. In his introductory remarks, Mr. Farooq Siddiqui, Head of AMP's National Coordination Comittee, highlighted the need for stronger district-level linkages, shared resource systems, and collaboration among NGOs to prevent duplication of efforts and achieve measurable outcomes. He noted that welfare work cannot remain fragmented and requires a collective structure supported by institutions, leadership and long-term planning.

A major highlight of the session was the data-driven analysis by Prof. Amitabh Kundu, Institute for Human Development, who underlined that education and healthcare must form the backbone of long-term national development, aligned with the vision of a Viksit Bharat. He stressed the need to eliminate gender, caste and religious barriers to ensure equitable progress. Mr. U. Nisar Ahmed (Retd. IPS), Chairman - Karnataka State Minority Commission, spoke on Poverty Eradication through Government Schemes - Awareness & Implementation. Prof. (Dr.) Furqan Qamar, Professor of Management - Centre for Management Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, spoke on the current status of Higher Education and ways to enhance the same. Mr. Tarique Siddiqui, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker, Thinker and Mentor, concluded the session by saying that the NGOs played a great role in creating awareness and providing solutions.

The conference saw strong engagement on educational transformation. Speakers including Dr. Abdul Ahad, AMP National Core Team Member & Organising Secretary, NGO Conference - 2025, Mr. Sohel Ajani, General Secretary, Anfal Foundation, Mr. Javeed Mirza Sahab, Founder & President - New Equitable and Innovative Educational Association, Hyderabad and Prof. Abdul Quaiyum Ansari, Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, highlighted gaps in access to quality education, low representation in premier institutes, the importance of digital learning, and the need for South–North academic collaboration, mentorship and competitive exam readiness. Adding further depth, Mr. Najmul Hasan Rizvi Najmi called for integrated models combining personality development, career counselling and livelihood pathways to better align youth aspirations with emerging economic opportunities.                 Mr. Chand Mohammed Shaikh, AMP State Head - Rajasthan, very ably hosted the session.

The next session was on creating a roadmap for the Economic Development of the Community. This session saw some influential speakers like Mr. Ahmed Buhari, President, United Economic Forum
Founder, Coal & Oil Group Chennai, Prof. Dr. Kausar Usman, Professor & Head – Geriatric Medicine, King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, UP, Ms. Rehana Ameer, Former Councillor - City of London, Founder - Smart Healthcare, Chair- London Chamber of Commerce, Prof. Hilal Naqvi, Professor - Department of Economics, University of Lucknow, and Mr. Shujat Haider Jafri, Founder & Chairman, Stufit Approach Private Limited who emphasised that as a community, we need to build enterprises and participate in the Start-up ecosystem.

Mr. Shahid Haider, Head AMP Employment Cell, explained how AMP has been helping the Community youth in this domain by organising Employability Training Programs, Job Fairs & Job Drives, launching Ampowerjobs.com, a job portal, thus ensuring community development and nation-building. This session was competently handled by Ms. Samina Alvi, AMP State Seretary - Uttar Pradesh

Participants engaged with the discussions throughout the day, emphasizing themes such as collaboration, transparency, teacher training, resource sharing and the importance of structured community financing.

The last session of the day titled Leaders’ Conclave: Towards a Better Tomorrow.  The theme of this session was AMP’s 25 Years Roadmap for Community Development & Nation Building. Sayyid Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal, Secretary - IUML National Committee, Kerala, was the Chief Guest for this programme, which was attended by many eminent local guests and invitees. Dr. Abdul Ahad, welcomed the Guests and informed them that the reason for organising this Conference in Lucknow was to give a practical framework to the 25-year Roadmap. Maulana Khalid Rasheed Faragi Mahali spoke about the importance of Khidmat-e-Khalq as the service to Allah SWT.

Mr. Aamir Edresy, in his inimitable style, spoke passionately about how the partnership and collaboration between social leaders and NGOs can help implement AMP’s ambitious 25-year Roadmap, a revolutionary initiative aimed to bring educational and economic transformation within the Community and the Nation.

The first day concluded with awards and memento distribution ceremony for winners and partner organisations, of AMP’s Educational and Social Awards 2025. Attendees expressed a shared commitment to further strengthening NGO networks and implementation of AMP’s 25-Year Roadmap for Educational and Economic Empowerment (2025–2050), which will continue to guide deliberations during the 2nd day of the Conference.
