315 Got Spot Job Offer And 700+ Were Shortlisted

2400+ Candidates attend the first ever Mega Job Fair organized by AMP in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, out of which 315 got spot job offer and 700+ were shortlisted for the next round of selection.

 “This Job Fair was a historical event what with 70 Cos. Coming together to provide jobs to the underserved and needy” - Mr. Shafi Maniyar, Chairman of Maniyar Group of Industries and Trustee, FD Education Society.

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) in association with Iqraa Foundation, FD Education Society, WMO, Ahmedabad Memon Jamat, Ciel HR and Ummat Foundation organized a Mega Job Fair in Ahmedabad on Friday, 27th Apr, 2018, which was a huge success. For this Job Fair, the organisers tied up with the Asst. Directorate of Employment, Govt. of Gujarat.

 

The event was conducted at the Campus of FD Education Society, in Maktampura, to help unemployed youths of Ahmedabad to get placed in reputed Corporates and to provide job opportunities to the needy without any discrimination of caste and creed. Through this unique event, the organizers endeavored to help in Nation Building by providing suitable jobs to the unemployed and under-employed youth.

70 National and Multinational Corporates from across various industries participated in this Job Fair with a massive turnout of more than 2400+ candidates. Tech Mahindra, Suzuki Motors, Jio Mobile, Zomato, CMS Infosystem, L&T and Adani Skill Development were a few top-notch Corporates who attended the JF. At the end of the day around 300+ candidates were given on-the-spot offers by the Corporates while 700+ candidates were shortlisted for the next round of selection.  

The Job Fair was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Vargiy – Asst. Director, Directorate of Emplyment, State Govt. of Gujarat, who while speaking at the occasion said that “When AMP approached us with the information of organizing a job fair in Ahmedabad, we agreed to partner with them as there was a common objective of serving the underserved and thus the Nation”. He also appreciated and thanked the entire team of AMP, Iqraa Foundation and others for organising a successful job fair and welcomed the Guests and participating Corporates.

Mr. Irfan Mogul, Motivational Speaker and AMP Trainer, handled the proceedings thereafter and welcomed all the Organisers on stage to share their thoughts about why they came together to organize this successful Job Fair together.

Mr. Razak Shaikh, Head- AMP Projects, welcomed the Guests and the Candidates and spoke about how AMP has completed 10 years in Nation Building, by organizing successful Job Fairs and Job Drives all over the country. He said that “AMP did not start any Schools and Colleges, but has been helping students coming out from them with Training and Jobs.” He spoke about how AMP Gujarat Chapter took the lead in organizing the Job Fair as part of  ‘Edufest’, a mega event covering ‘Career Guidance’ seminar from 27th-29th April ’18.

He further mentioned that “Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) has been contributing in Nation building with its various initiatives of Skill Development Lectures (SDLs) and its Employment Assistance Cell (EAC) through its 80 city-Chapters all over the Country. We have a strong base of over 4000 + volunteers who are working professionals and help in reaching 300 schools for Skill Development Lectures (SDLs) and at the same time have helped about 12000+ educated and semi-educated youth get suitable jobs through our Job Fairs and Job Drives all over the Country.”

Mr. Imtiyazuddin Shaikh, Co-ordinator – Ahmedabad City and Trustee, Iqraa Foundation was responsible for tying up with the other Partner Organisations in Ahmedabad for organizing the Job Fair. He mentioned how he traveled to Surat in January to experience the first ever Job Fair held by AMP in Gujarat. Since then he has worked hard to organize a successful mega Job Drive in February, which was attended by 500 candidates and motivated him to organize this mega Job Fair.

Mr. Soheb Selia, Organising Secretary - AMP said, AMP has worked selflessly for the sake of Indian Youth for the last 10 years through its various initiatives like Career Fests, Skill Development Lectures (SDLs), Employability Training Programmes (ETPs), Job Drives & Job Fairs etc. We are now getting into the next phase of our growth, where we will be focusing on Initiatives which will bring the marginalized and the underserved Communities into the mainstream through Economic empowerment.”

Mr. Shareef Memon, Regional Head, World Memon Organisation (WMO), Ahmedabad said "This Job Fair has been organized to fulfill ‘Dreams’, the dreams of the common people, of getting a decent job, leading to fulfillment of other dreams like a decent house and a decent family”. He informed the audience that WMO has launched a Job Portal ‘www.memonjobs.com’, which will help all needy persons get jobs.

Mr. Nayyar Hashmi, AMP Member and Director, Ciel HR, an Organising partner mentioned how he travelled all over GIDC and met the Corporates to invite them for the Job Fair. He said “We will work hard to organize these kind of Job Fairs regularly in other cities of Gujarat as well so the unemployed youths can be helped.”

Mr. Iftekhar Shaikh, Head – AMP EAC, said “Partnerships & collaborations with like-minded Organisations and various Government agencies will give us the right opportunity to transform and empower the underprivileged so they too can contribute significantly to India’s growth story.”  He thanked the partner organisations for teaming up with AMP for organizing such a successful Job Fair.

Mr. Nirav Shah, a motivational speaker was invited by the Directorate of Employment in Gujarat to motivate and inspire the candidates to give their best. Through his personal examples and stories from Panchatantra, he said that getting jobs is but a small part of the larger process called ‘Life’ and failure in getting one should only motivate them to work harder and achieve their potential and dreams.

The Job Fair was a result of dedication and hard work of AMP Team Members under the guidance of its Central Team. The other Partner Organisation’s team members and volunteers along with the Directorate of Employment team supported AMP Team very ably in organizing and managing the Job Fair successfully.
