Allah will not change our condition until we ourselves rise to our challenges.
We must do all that we can until our condition is changed.
If we desire a brighter future for our society — one in which Allah’s name is raised, and in which turning to Him becomes a source of prosperity and harmony for everyone — then, to put it frankly, we need to pay for it.
Zakat is how we start to do that. This is why it has been instituted by Allah: as a source of welfare provision for individuals in need, as well as collective strength for the believing community.
