AMP Navi Mumbai

AMP Navi Mumbai's Core Members Mr Samir Bubere and Prof Shahul Hameed Shaikh were invited with many other delegates on Urdu Language function and the challenges faced to promote Urdu language within the community and society. This wonderful programme was organised by Mr Ravoof who is Principal of Al Hasnat Anglo Urdu School, Turbhe, Navi Mumbai. He cried during his speech and spoke about the challenges he faced to start this school and the need for the same.

There is only one School across Navi Mumbai whereas every taluka should have one Urdu medium school as per necessity keeping in mind the Urdu speaking population. Nevertheless, Cidco has allotted only 2 plots for Urdu School across Navi Mumbai.

Al Hasnat School students participated and did an effective small stage show which depicted various aspects on challenges faced by Urdu medium students coping up with English medium students and their parents behaviour. The also enacted the importance of Urdu language in our lives which we are missing with new generation as well as refinement of Urdu (Tehzeeb) and beauty of the language. However, it was sad to see that Urdu Language is missing its identity as there is "None or Rare Demand, thus lack of supply for instruction of Urdu language". 

Many delegates spoke about the concern to keep the Urdu language lively as possible in the community and society. In addition, there was a discussion that it is a big misconception to large number of people that only Muslims speak Urdu language but there is a huge population of Urdu lovers from different castes and creeds. 

AMP Navi Mumbai's Mr Samir Bubere said that he himself being from English Medium School background always lacked to read and write Urdu. Infact it is our mother tongue but sad enough it was not part of the English medium school curriculum. Hence, this always remained a challenge for his age groups of English speaking professionals where they feel deep sorrow for the same. He also assured to the audience that AMP would plan with their expert Urdu speaking members, something constructive in future in terms of SDL's Lecture to promote URDU language for beginners (1 hr PPT) and would do workshops in English medium schools about its importance and beauty to inculcate Urdu within themselves.
