AMP Monthly Report — June 2017

Major Activities:

As it was the holy month of Ramadan, of Fasting & Ibadah, AMPians all across India had taken a small break from regular activities while focusing on career guidance and community welfare campaigns.

Following are the key activities conducted by AMP across India in June 2017:

1. Career Counselling Cell (CCC) Meeting — Mumbai Central Office

AMP Mumbai Chapter organized a meeting of the Career Counselling Cell (CCC) on 10th June 2017 at the Mumbai Central Head Office. 10 Members of the CCC group attended the meeting, which was addressed by Mr. Aamir Edresy, President of AMP.

2. IIT / Medical / Engg. / Defence Guidance Seminar — Mira Road

AMP Mira Road Chapter organised a comprehensive counselling session for students and parents on 17th June 2017 at St. Harris School. Guidance on IIT/Medical/Engineering was delivered by Mr. Piyush Singh (Aromatic Classes), while Prin. Khalid Khan addressed career avenues in the Armed Forces.

3. Month-Long Professional Counselling with Student Alliance — Kurla

AMP Mumbai Chapter in collaboration with Student Alliance presented Career Counselling and Guidance by experts in Kurla from 17th June to 17th July 2017, offering professional coaching for 9th & 10th grades, Engineering, Architecture, and Pharmacy students.

4. Career Chart Distribution Across 25 Schools

The AMP Career Chart was distributed to 25 schools across India to empower students at key decision points.

5. AMP Summer Internship Program (SIP)

AMP under its Summer Internship Program delegated live social and educational projects to 20 Graduate and Post-Graduate Students, enhancing their soft skills and leadership capabilities.

6. AMP Zakat Fund 2017 Campaign Success

The AMP Zakat Fund Campaign for 2017 achieved landmark success with 530 Donors contributing, compared to 368 donors in 2016. Chapters nationwide mobilized support through direct outreach and targeted Iftaar gatherings:

  • IIT Powai, Mumbai: Attended by Mr. Aamir Edresy (President), Mr. Razak Shaikh (Head, EAC), and Mr. Mohammed Feroz Shaikh.
  • IISc Bengaluru: Organized on the initiative of Mr. Syed Nashid (Board Member).
  • Bengaluru & Lucknow Chapters: Organized gatherings motivating members to champion education and self-employment.

7. Online Career Counselling Cell Network — 233 Expert Counsellors

AMP’s Online Career Counselling Cell grew to 233 verified expert counsellors nationwide. Following the announcement of board exam results, hundreds of students connected for professional advice on higher education streams.

Tentative Plans for the month of July, 2017

1. Nationwide SDL Lectures

SDL lectures planned across at least 50 Schools in Mumbai & Suburbs and another 50 Schools across the Country.

2. Multi-City Job Drives

Job Drives planned across 6 areas in Mumbai & Suburbs and another 6 Job Drives across India.

3. Job Fairs in Mumbai & Aurangabad

One full-scale Job Fair each is being planned in Mumbai and Aurangabad.

4. College ETPs & Mock Interviews

Employability Training Programmes & Mock Interview Workshops planned in 5 colleges in Mumbai and 10 across other Chapters.

5. SSC & HSC Career Counselling Drive

Career Counselling Cell active with counseling helplines providing immediate post-result admission guidance.

6. Scholarship & Self-Employment Launch

AMP Higher Education Scholarship & Self Employment funding will be officially rolled out and promoted.
