600+ delegates from 130+ North Indian districts attended AMP’s 2-day North India NGO Conference at Lucknow!

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) held a 2-day North India NGO Conference, which concluded in Lucknow on Sunday, 5th March 2023. It was a historic moment not only for the partcipants but also for the entitre Community.

The Conference was the first of its kind action-oriented meeting in North India where prominent community leaders, government representatives, social leaders, thinkers, top development sector professionals, civil society activists & NGOs in huge numbers sat together and deliberated on Community Development and Nation Building agenda for the next 25 years, as well as for the immediate action plan.

600+ delegates from 130+ districts attended this conference covering almost all aspirational districts of North India. 50+ prominent speakers joined the conference from across the country and they were impressed to see the  huge numbers of the participants.
 

The conference began with Tilawate Qur’an. Presiding over  the inaugural event on the 1st day of the Conference was Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangimahali, Chairman - Islamic Centre of India, Lucknow. He said that it was a great pleasure to welcome the  representatives of the many NGOs from North India working at the grassroots level. He expressed hope  that all the  participants would  share their experiences and  interact  with each other to plan for the future, which will definitely  help the community  to overcome poverty and deprivation.
 

 Maulana Safi Haider, Secretary - Tanzeemul Makatib, Lucknow, who was the  special guest of the program, said in his address that  this effort by AMP is  very commendable and the society  can be uplifted  only by bringing Non-governmental institutions (NGOs) on one platform. 
 

Aamir Edresy, President - AMP, in his inaugural address said that through  this conference, AMP has tried to focus on the 200 minority-dominated districts of the country where a large section of the  community is  deprived & backward and thus needs to be brought at par with  other communities.  AMP plans to harness the power of  individual NGOs to Collaborate  and collectively contribute in improving the  educational and social conditions of the community to the next level. To further this mission, AMP will organize  regional conferences  at other parts of the Country also, where social leaders and  NGOs  from respective regions will also be connected with. 
 

Farooq Siddiqui, Head - AMP NGO Connect, while highlighting the features and benefits of the project during the inaugural address, said that  through  this conference, AMP will partner and collaborate with minority institutions from all over the  country for the  development of the community and the nation. Intended to  bring social  organizations (NGOs)  on one platform, he  further said that the North India NGO Conference is the  first step  in this direction, which will lead to cooperation and partnership to  bring about much-needed change  for the community.

The  inaugural session was moderated by AMP Central Zone Head, Syed Shoaib, and the vote of  thanks was presented AMP-USA President, Mohammad Shahanshah Ansari.
 

On the 1st day of the Conference on Saturday, many important sessions were held like;  A Special Presentation on Poverty Alleviation through Government Schemes, by U Nisar Ahmed IPS (Retd) & Chairman - National Centre For Research & Development, Bangalore. It was followed by, Importance of Education & its Role in shaping the Future of Community; then by Economic Development of Indian Muslims - Creating A Roadmap and finally Agenda for 2047 - From Underrated to Acclaimed. These sessions were addressed by noted speakers such as Khwaja M Shahid President - All India Educational Movement (AIEM), Syed Saud Akhtar, Registrar - Jamia Hamdard, Delhi, Mohammed Ashfaque Director - Gravity Classes, Lucknow, Mohd Wazir Ansari IPS (Retd) & Former DGP, Chhattisgarh, Abdul Razak Shaikh Senior Banker and Head of AMP National Projects Team, Shakaib Azhar Chaudhary, Head – Digital & Operational transformation, IDP IELTS, South Asia, Sameer Ahmed Siddiqui, Motivational Speaker & IAS Coach, Fahad Rahmani CEO - Rahmani Program of Excellence, Rahmani30, Dr. Jawed Alam Khan, Senior Economist, Rajan Singh Program Manager - Azim Premji Foundation, Dr. Abdul Ahad Siddiqui Founder Director - Pulse Hospital, Lucknow Chairman - White Hall Group of Institutions, Kashif Raza, Media Sales professional among others.
 

On the 2nd day of the Conference on Sunday, various other important sessions were held including those for Women & Youth. The first session was on the theme of Partnership and Collaboration - The Only Way Forward, followed by Zakat and Awqaaf: Divine Tools for Empowerment, NGO Capacity Building - Reinforcing the Foundation (Compliances, CSR etc). These sessions were adressed by eminent speakers such as; Aasif Mujtaba Founder & Director - Miles2Smile Foundation, Dr. Aqsa Shaikh, Founder - Human Solidarity Foundation & Associate Professor – HIMSR, Abdul Subhan Founder & MD - Falcon Group of Institutions, Maulana Syed Safi Haider Secretary - Tanzeemul Makatib, Lucknow, Dr. Syed Zafar Mehmood President - Zakat Foundation of India (ZFI), Dr. Salman Asad Member, Delhi State Waqf Tribunal, Mufti Abdul Mohaimin Azhar, Vice President - Safa Baitul Maal Trust, Hyderabad Saleem Khan, Founder & CEO - Saaras Impact Foundation, Benazeer Baig, Founder Secretary - Raza Educational and social welfare society, Dr. Mohammad Zubair Ahmad Entrepreneurship Coach & Business Consultant Integrated Facilitation Services and Dr. Amir Ullah Khan, noted Economist & Professor - MCRHRDI
 

Parallel special sessions were held for various focused groups. On the 1st day a session was held for Educators, titled: Establishment & Management of Community Educational Institutions, which was addressed by Najmul Hasan Rizvi 'Najmi' Secretary - Unity College, Lucknow, Prof. (Dr.) Saudul Hasan Member - CISCE, Cambridge IB School Council in India, Lucknow and Prin. Shahnawaz Khan, Core Member - AMP SDP Team. The 2nd special session was on The Role of Unani Doctors in Connecting and Uplifting the Community, which was addressed by Dr. Gufran Rashid Director, Sarang Hospital, Lucknow, Dr. Kauser Usman Professor - King Georges Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow and Dr. Kaunain Kausar Onco Radiologist & Founder - Islamic Mission School, Aligarh, among others.
 

On the 2nd day, special sessions were held for Women, Youth and Politicians. The 1st session was titled: Women's Engagement and their Important and Equal role in Community Development, which was addressed by Prof. Ghazala Jameel, JNU, New Delhi and Dr. Arvinder A. Ansari, Prof., JMI, New Delhi among others. The 2nd session was on Community Development through Peoples Representatives (MPs, MLAs, Political Figures) and Social Leaders, which was hosted by Dr. Kausar Usman & Abdul Majid Nizami and addressed by Aamir Edresy. A session for Youth titled Mining Young Talent & Polishing Them for Nation Building through Institutes of National Importance (INIs) was addressed by esteemed speakers such as Anees Kutty Founder & Director - Anees Defence Career Institute, Pune, Dr. Md. Athar Ansari, Associate Professor of Pediatrics - Nalanda Medical College Hospital, Patna and Prof S M Raza, Branch Head - Allen Career Institute, Delhi among others.
 

In the closing session, Dr. Kausar Usman of KGMU, Lucknow and Aamir Edresy President - Association of Muslim Professionals, while adressing the particpants summarised the 2-day Conference, its learnings and key takeaways.
 

On both the days, the program ended with the National Anthem.
