During October 2016, the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) drove comprehensive nationwide initiatives, featuring multiple Job Drives in Mumbai and Bangalore, the ‘Eureka 2016’ Science Exhibition in Vaniyambadi, Skill Development Lectures across 52 schools, EAC expansion, AZF Higher Education scholarships distribution, and international leadership seminars.

Major Activities & Educational Initiatives

1. ‘Eureka 2016’ Science Exhibition in Vaniyambadi

AMP Tamil Nadu Chapter organized ‘Eureka 2016’, an innovative Science Exhibition for school students at Khaderia Higher Secondary School, Vaniyambadi, on 23rd & 24th October 2016. Around 500 young school students participated and benefited from this experiential science learning platform.


2. Skill Development Lectures (SDL) & Career Chart Distribution

  • Nationwide SDLs: Skill Development Lectures were conducted across 52 schools by various AMP city chapters throughout India to mentor students in academic discipline and life skills.
  • Career Chart Distribution: The comprehensive AMP Career Chart was distributed to 10 schools across the country.

3. Corporate Connect, EAC Expansion & Project Ampower

  • EAC Senior Project Co-ordinator: AMP Mumbai office appointed Miss Nishat Shaikh as Senior Project Co-ordinator for the Employment Assistance Cell (EAC) to lead corporate engagement and streamline recruitment operations.
  • Project Ampower: AMP initiated Project Ampower to run Employment-Oriented Courses and Skill India initiatives, with Mr. Asif Shaikh shortlisted as Project Head.

4. Global & Regional Seminars

  • AMP Kuwait Chapter: Conducted a leadership seminar on ‘Leadership Skills & Confidence Building’ by Mr. Abdulla Thakur (CEO at Dhow Capital – Al-Sagar Group) on Saturday, 29th October 2016.
  • Digital Communication Group: Founded by Mr. Imran Ali Khan (National Coordinator-Communications, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India) to leverage Google's specialized tools for non-profit organizations.
  • Solapur Chapter: Organized a UPSC Scholarship awareness program on 22nd October 2016 addressed by eminent speaker Mr. Zahid Ali Khan Iqbal.

5. AMP Zakat Fund (AZF) & Institutional Capacity Building

  • Zakat Scholarship Disbursements: Issued Higher Studies Scholarship cheques of ₹10,000 each to 10 students, along with 1 Self-Employment grant of ₹25,000. Approximately 90 additional shortlisted students will receive support.
  • Internal Staff Training: AMP central office team underwent capacity-building workshops on Corel Draw and MS Excel led by committee members Mr. Javed Sayed and Mr. Soheb Selia.
