During November 2016, the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) organized impactful nationwide initiatives, featuring multiple Job Drives in Mumbai, the National Education Day campaign across 287+ schools, Skill Development Lectures (SDL), Mock Interview Workshops for engineering students, AZF Higher Studies Scholarships distribution, and strategic Chapter assemblies across India.

Mock Interview Workshop (Pune)

Conducted on 20th Nov 2016 for 40 mechanical engineering students.

Career Chart Distribution

Career charts distributed to over 10 schools nationwide.

Major Activities & Educational Initiatives

1. National Education Day Campaign across 287+ Schools

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, AMP conducted special Skill Development Lectures (SDLs) from 15th November to 30th November 2016 on the topic ‘Kamyabi ka Wahid Raasta – Taaleem’ (Education – The Only Path to Success). These guidance lectures were successfully conducted in more than 287 schools across India.

2. Regular Skill Development Lectures (SDLs) in 47 Schools

Regular Skill Development Lectures were organized by various AMP Chapters across 47 schools, mentoring thousands of school students on moral values, study skills, and career orientation.


3. Corporate Connect & Skill India Initiatives

  • EAC Senior Project Co-ordinator: AMP Mumbai office appointed Mr. Naeem Shaikh as Senior Project Co-ordinator for the Employment Assistance Cell (EAC) to handle Corporate Connect and oversee employment drives.
  • Tie-up with Ampower India: AMP partnered with Ampower India to execute Employment Oriented Courses and Skill India initiatives, with Mr. Asif Shaikh coordinating on behalf of Ampower India.
  • NSDC & PMKVY Training Partner Meetings: Conducted consultative meetings with partners including National Institute of Technology, IL&FS, Edify Excellence, HUM Foundation, GEMS Skills, and TISKNA to implement vocational training courses.

4. AMP Zakat Fund (AZF) Scholarship Disbursements

Under the AMP Zakat Fund, Higher Studies Scholarship cheques of ₹10,000 each were issued to 30 meritorious students, along with 1 grant of ₹25,000 for Self-Employment support. Financial aid for approximately 70 additional shortlisted students is in processing.


5. Train the Trainer (TTT) — SDL Volunteer Training

Specialized Train the Trainer workshops were conducted to prepare speaker volunteers for nationwide SDLs. The training session in Akola was conducted by Mr. Javed Iqbal (Nagpur), and the session in Govandi (Mumbai) was conducted by Mr. Firdaus Ansari (Navi Mumbai).

Mumbai Meeting (Nagpada)

Reviewed 6-month progress, AZF, SDLs, and the 2017 Annual Plan.

Chennai Chapter (Coimbatore)

Counseled 100 parents of HSC students on Higher Education.

Bangalore Chapter Review

Monthly review meeting with 13 members and guest Fahad Rahmani.

Pune Chapter Central Meet

Strategy meetings and SDL chapter management dashboard setup.

Tentative Plans for the Month of December, 2016

1. Employability Training Programs

Selected 7 colleges for ETP sessions commencing in December.

2. Job Fair Calendar 2016-17

Finalized fairs for Andheri, Mira Road, Indore, Delhi & Kolkata.

3. Senior Professionals Meet

Strategic meet on Muslim Community Economic Development Plan.

4. Multi-City Job Drives

Scheduled job drives across various regional chapter hubs.
