AMP successfully organized a Mega Job Fair on December 18, 2016, at Vidya Vikas School in Andheri, Mumbai, aimed at economically empowering the community. In collaboration with Khidmat Organisation, the event attracted over 1,200 job seekers from Mumbai and nearby cities, surpassing the expected turnout of 1,000. Mr. Razak Shaikh, Head of AMP Employment Cell, expressed satisfaction with the response, while Mr. Soheb Selia highlighted the fair's significance for those affected by job losses due to demonetization. The event featured 28 participating corporates, including major companies like Reliance Communication and HDFC, as well as startups like Swiggy. By the end of the day, 275 candidates received on-the-spot job offers, and 320 were shortlisted for further evaluation, showcasing the fair's success in connecting job seekers with potential employers. The fair was inaugurated by Municipal Corporator Mr. Mohsin Haider and attended by influential community members.
AMP organizes another successful Mega Job Fair at Andheri, Mumbai.
Keeping in mind Association Of Muslim Professionals (AMP) core objective of supporting the community in Economical Empowerment, AMP had conducted a Job Fair at Vidya Vikas School near Bhavan's College, Andheri ( W ) on 18th Dec., 2016. The Job Fair was organized in association with Khidmat Organisation of Andheri which is run by corporator Mohsin Haider.
Many job aspirants across Mumbai as well as nearby cities like Pune & Aurangabad attended the event since it provided the opportunity to directly connect to potential employers on a one-on-one manner.
Mr. Razak Shaikh, Head of AMP Employment Cell, said “The response for the event was indeed very satisfying. Although we had estimated a head-count of around 1000 candidates, more than 1200 people turned up for the Job fair hoping to find a suitable job”.
Mr. Soheb Selia, Organizing Secretary, AMP said "The process of Demonetisation has thrown a few people out of their jobs, due to various reasons, this Job Fair has given such individuals a ray of hope".
At the end of the day around 275 candidates were given on-the-spot offers by the recruiters while another 320 were shortlisted for further evaluation. The recruiters when contacted also conveyed that they were indeed very pleased with the organization of the entire event and the quality of the individuals whom they interacted with. This Job fair gave a chance to the candidates to give interview for vacancies in Sales, Marketing, Back Office, Admin and other departments of these prestigious companies. 28 Corporates across various industries had participated in this Job Fair. Large corporates like Reliance Communication, HDFC, Times Group, Airtel, etc along with Startups like Swiggy & PharmEasy had participated in this Job Fair. Leading international placement agencies namely F.Gheewala and Agha Caravan were also present during the event.
The Job Fair was inaugurated by Mr. Mohsin Haider, Municipal Corporator and was attended by many influential individuals of the community amongst others.
