Surat Chapter organised an AMP introductory meet

AMP Surat Chapter in association with M. A. I. High School, Kathor, organized an AMP Introductory meet on Sun, 28th January 2018

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) Surat Chapter in association with MAI High School, Kathor, organized an AMP Introductory meet on Sun., 28th January 2018. Kathor is a small town situated 20 kilometers away from Surat with a population of not less than 20,000 comprising mainly of Muslims.

The meeting started at 1030 hours and was attended by Mr. Jabir Choksi, AMP State Head, Gujarat and two AMP Central Team members, namely Mr. Iftekhar Shaikh and Mr. Farhan Khan along with the Trustees and Management of MAI High School. The participants, totaling 80, also included School & College students, Ulema, Teachers, other Professionals and the people of Kathor.

Mr. Iftekhar Shaikh presented a detailed introduction about AMP’s activities, objectives, Mission and Vision and its penetration across the country. He also spoke about the various benefits AMP has provided to thousands of students across India since its inception in 2007. 

The following were the concerns raised during the meet by MAI Management.

  1. Lack of Confidence in the students despite students securing excellent results.
  2. Unemployment
  3. Lack of Communication & Interpersonal skills
  4. Public speaking

Mr. Jabir Choksi handled critical queries raised by the management and trustees of MAI High School.  He gave assurance that if given an opportunity to work with students at Kathor, AMP shall be able to give results and bring about change in students’ mindset and character.

Mr. Ahmed Vawda, who was the Chief Guest of the meet, spoke about the need to have association with AMP for the development of the students of Kathor. Mr. Yacoob Dababhai, Trustee, MAI High School proposed that AMP should have the next Job Fair in the School premises for which all expenses shall be met them. Mr. Iftekhar Shaikh, Lead, AMP Employment Assistance Cell, suggested that a Job Drive be undertaken as a first step, as it can be very economical and result oriented where in few companies can visit Kathor. This can be carried out on periodical basis for a few months after which we can evaluate holding a Job Fair.

Al Hamdulillah, the Introductory meet was very successful and we look forward to a synergy where in the benefits are reached out to the students of Kathor and its neighboring villages.
