AMP-WMO Job Fair in Mumbai on Fri, 5th Jan 18

1800 Candidates attend AMP-WMO Job Fair on Fri, 5th  Jan ’18 at Mumbai out of which 310 got final job offers and 643 were shortlisted for the next round of selection

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) in association with World Memon Organisation (WMO) organized a Mega Job Fair in Mumbai on Fri, 5th Jan, 2018, which was a huge success. For this Job Fair in AMP also tied up with the Mumbai District Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship (DSDE&E) and Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) which are a Govenrment of Maharashtra Undertakings. The other organization associating was F. Gheewala HR Consultants.

The event was conducted at Rail Nikunj Hall, Divisional Railway Office Complex, Mumbai Central to help unemployed youths to get placed in reputed mainstream Corporates to provide job opportunities to the needy without any discrimination of caste and creed. Through this unique event, the organizers endeavored to give back to the Society what they have received.

56 Corporates from across various industries had participated in this Job Fair with a massive turnout of more than 1800 candidates. At the end of the day around 310 candidates were given on-the-spot offers by the recruiters while 643 were shortlisted for the next round of selection.  

The Job Fair was inaugurated by Mr. Suliman Noor Mahmod (Solly Noor) - President WMO, who while speaking at the occasion said that “WMO was formed not just for the Memon Community but for the Mankind at large. Organising such a job fair is a great way to help underserved Communities and thus serve the nation”. He also appreciated and thanked the entire team of AMP for organising such a successful job fair and welcomed the participating Corporates.

Mr. Haroon Karim, Chairman-Board of Trustees, WMO was also delighted with the initiative taken by their Organisation for creating such opportunities for the youngsters of the Community and the Nation. He mentioned that “WMO works on giving livelihood to needy youngsters and aims to remove poverty through providing employment opportunities”.

Mr. Nowsad Abdul Gani, Deputy-President WMO, Mr. Ashraf Sattar, Deputy Chairman, Board of Trustees WMO, Mr.Shahid Sangani, C.O.O-WMO and Mr. Abdul Sattar Dada, Past-President, WMO were the other dignitaries who attended the event and were very pleased with the arrangements.

On the occasion, WMO also launched a Job Portal www.memonjobs.com at the hands of       Mr. Nowsad Abdul Gani, which has been created to help the unemployed youth of the Community.

Mr. Razak Shaikh, Head-AMP Employment Cell, who was overseeing the arrangements, stressed about India being a country of largest population of youth as compared to other countries and has tremendous potential to become the Employment Factory for the World. He also mentioned that AMP had so far organized 20 Mega Job Fairs and hundreds of Job Drives in the last 5 years of AMP’s existence with more than 12,000 candidates being placed during these initiatives across 80 AMP Chapters all over the Country.

Aamir Edresy, President, AMP who was personally present said, “AMP has repeatedly worked for the Indian Youth for the last 5 years by inviting Corporates and HR Consultants offering various job opportunities at our Job Fairs. We are now getting into Partnerships & Collaborations with like-minded organisations like WMO and various Government agencies like District Skill Development, Employment & Entreprenuership (DSDE&E) and Maharastra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) to give the right opportunity for our youth so they can transform their lives for the better and significantly contribute to India’s growth story. We seek to be the bridge between the Corporates, Government agencies and the Unemployed/Underemployed youth. We firmly believe in this ideology of Economic Empowerment through creation of job oportunities.

Suhail Khandwani, CMD, Khandwani Group of Cos. while speaking on the occasion said that “We need to create Institutions which will help our youngsters to get meaningful jobs to sustain themselves”.

Ahsan Gadawala, MD, Ala Trading Organisation, said “We resolve to conduct more such events in the future through AMP’s Employment Cell and undertake partnerships with other similar Organisations to serve our fellow countrymen.”

The event was a result of dedication and hard work of AMP Team Members under the guidance of Mr. Soheb Selia, AMP’s Organizing Secretary, Mr. Razak Shaikh and Mr. Iftekhar Shaikh, Team Lead, AMP Employment Cell under which the Job Fair Project is run. The WMO team members and DSDE&E team supported the AMP Team and the Railway police personnel very ably managed the crowd.
