AMP was formed by group of ambitious and visionary individuals who thought of making difference to the Muslim community through a unique forum.

Following are AMP founding members.

Mr. Aamir Edresy, Mumbai 

President, Association of Muslim Professionals

Aamir Edresy is a Software Engineer by qualification, Businessman by profession and a Social Activist by passion.  He is a “Man with a Mission”, the mission to evolve the Indian Muslim community into an Intellectually Progressive, Socially Dynamic and Economically Potent community of conscientious individuals who will significantly contribute to the development of the Nation. He is a multi-faceted person who as the President and Founder of AMP has quite ably led AMP from its inception to its present status of being a vibrant pan-India organization of dynamic individuals. He has exceptional interpersonal skills and networking abilities which is quite evident from his strong social network across India which includes professionals, students, politicians, bureaucrats and social leaders.

As a person he is quite level-headed, mature and capable of taking decisions. He has great organizational skills with an eye for identifying talent and has the ability to put a team together and lead everyone to deliver to the best of their potential. He is enthusiastic, ambitious and a great thinker who is able to devise radical strategies for the development of the community. He is also quite erudite in the matters of public administration and political governance and is abreast with all the recent developments and changes in Government Policies. Over the years Aamir Edresy has earned a reputation for being a Muslim Youth Icon.  He is widely recognized as the “Most influential Youth Leader of the Educated Indian Muslim Youth”

He strongly believes that “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader!”-  John Quincy Adams, he has proven to be a visionary and undoubtedly a great leader. 

Mr. Mohd Shahanshah Ansari, Ghazipur, Columbus
Head, General Administration, Association of Muslim Professionals

Mohammed Shahanshah Ansari hails from a much respected family of freedom fighters and Nationalist bureaucrats from District Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, he is currently posted in Columbus, USA. His grandfather Late Jb. Haji Ahmed Ali Ghazipuri was an admirer of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, was a Freedom Fighter and served in the Azad Hind Fauj. Mohammad Shahanshah is a man with profound thoughts, being one of the co-founders of AMP he was highly instrumental in setting up and implementing various policies and framework within AMP as a General Administration Head. Apart from AMP, on the social front he is also involved with a couple of other organizations working for the welfare of the downtrodden.

Mohammad Shahanshah is a Senior Software Engineer by profession with over 13 years of industry experience. He has completed his Master of Computer Application from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University in 2006 and has worked in India as well as abroad for some of the prestigious organizations which include Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudi Electricity Company, SAP Global Delivery, BHP Billiton Singapore etc. His is an expert in SAP Data Migration, SAP Master Data Governance and currently working as Technical Leader for one of the Fortunte 10 Companies in the United States of America.

His adheres to the lines of Abraham Lincoln, “I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.”

Mr. Syed Najeeb-Ur-Rahman, Mumbai
General Secretary, Association of Muslim Professionals

Syed Najeeb-Ur-Rahman belongs to an illustrious family of professionals and is himself a management professional. His father had retired as a Marine Engineer who had participated in the War of Goa’s liberation and the Indo-Pak War of 1971 during his service with the Indian Navy. Najeeb likes to take a lot of initiatives and is always on his feet for any community initiative. He is also a gifted speaker and has exceptional oratory and communications skills. He goes out of his way to help those around him and likes to devote his free time doing social work and community service. This personal trait has encouraged him to be a part of AMP in its budding stage, he is one of its co-founders. He heads PR & Communications, supervises the content creation and looks after media relations at AMP.

By qualification Najeeb is an MBA post graduate and is a Sales & Marketing professional. He has worked across various geographies both in India & abroad, in various domains including Advertising, Telecom, Aviation and IT winning various accolades. He has been invited as a ‘Guest Lecturer’ to various colleges which include Schools and Colleges as well as Management institutes, Engineering Colleges, Architecture College and various other Academic Institutions. He has been able to put his expertise to good use at AMP as one of its innovative thinkers. On the personal front he enjoys striking a pleasant conversation with those around and loves to stay fit.

His favourite lines are from the poem by Robert Frost, ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening’ which goes as such..…“The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep.”

Mr. Soheb Selia, Mumbai
Organising Secretary, Association of Muslim Professionals

Soheb Selia heads the Organizing, Planning & Implementation vertical at AMP and has been instrumental in planning and implementing all critical activities and projects of AMP since its inception. Apart from being a thorough professional he is passionate about working for the upliftment of the community. He is actively associated with AMP since its early days and is one of the co-founders of AMP.  

He is a stickler to the principles of Total Quality Management as management philosophy that aims to harness the human and material resources in the most effective way to achieve the objectives of the organization and abides by it as well.

On the professional front Soheb is working as Chief Manager - MIS & Analytics with Reliance Capital Asset Management. He has a rich experience of more than 15 years in Corporate Planning & Business Reporting department in Group Companies of Aditya Birla Group and Reliance ADAG Group.

He goes by the lines of Mahatma Gandhi, “If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”

Mr. Javed Mohammed Sayed, Mumbai
Finance Secretary, Association of Muslim Professionals 

Javed Mohammed Sayed comes from one of the early business families which came down to Mumbai. He comes across as a person with a tough exterior but a soft interior and  is always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone who comes asking for help. He usually comes out with lots of innovative business ideas, while at the same time he is genuinely and deeply concerned for the welfare of the community.

Javed is an Entrepreneur and a talented Freelance Graphic Designer having 12 years of experience in Design & Printing. He is the Proprietor of a design firm "Zeba Arts" based in Mumbai. He has been doing various designing assignments for numerous print as well as electronic Advertisements for many corporate and business houses. His talent has been well recognized and suitably utilized at AMP where he Heads the design Team. He has always been accommodating and helpful to all.

Mohammed Ahmed Abdul Mannan, Mumbai

Mohammed Ahmed Abdul Mannan is one of the oldest members of AMP, its well-wisher and most ardent supporter and one of its co-founders. He has always been moved by the plight of the people and always willing to help others. He has a calm and quiet demeanor but a firm grit and determination. He is also the joint secretary of ‘HUDA Foundation’ an NGO which is socially active in local area.

Ahmed has an experience of over 10 years which includes 9 years of teaching and is currently associated as Asst. Professor at one of Mumbai's leading Engineering college, M.H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering.  Academically Ahmed has done B.E. Computer Science & Engineering and his M. E. in Computer Engineering  He has also submitted one international paper titled ‘Criminal Photograph retrieval based on forensic sketch’, at www.sciencedirect.com one of the best journal in India and among top listed in the world in which he has proposed a method which will reduce the task of 27 hour to 3.5 hr almost 7 times faster.  He has also published two international and one national Paper. His area of interest includes pursuing Ph.D in Computer Vision or Pattern Recognition.
